RRT-0 extension tube

I was wondering if anyone had modded the AA extension tube to fit 17500 or even 18500 cells? And if you have, how difficult was it?
I'm looking to get an (jetbeam) RRT-0 for my fiance and myself, but I don't really like 16340 (or RCR123) cells.
