Re: Where can I get the material to make my own Lynar?

I guess I'm out of the loop, what is lynar?

I did a google search, after scanning 3 pages of hits, I still can't find anything that would be remotely flashlight related....

Can I buy a clue?

Try the B/S/T non-flashlight section and do a search on Lanyards, somebody was selling their own stuff a month or so ago.

Also go to a sporting goods shop for materials. If you work for a company that makes you wear an ID badge, ask security nicely for a couple spares, maybe you can mod something that is suitable.

Run a search on Berkeley Point. They carry all the items you will need. Spectra cord, mini clip etc.

If you go to any of the outdoor type stores...REI, EMS, etc..in the climbing area they sell very small diameter, colorful ropes and twines. I bought about 10 feet for $1.30...very nice and strong..looks good too.

What about fancy boot laces!

I've made a few and they turned out great!

MilSpec 550 Para Cord is available readily from either on-line or even your local "Army/Navy" or "surplus" or "tactical supply" shops.

Colors include the usual "tactical/military" spectrum of black, OD green, tan, and brown.

Oftentimes, these very same sources will carry things like cord locks, making it a quick one-stop shop.
