Hi all,

Sometime back, I have been asked if I could make a board to be use for Lupine Betty headlight / TL when I start selling the CREE XML U2 bin.
And here is the production upgrade board. It runs on 7 x CREE XML U2 bin. Each emitter has an efficiency of 300 Lumens @ 700mA.
The U2 bin emitter can take up to 3000 mA or 3 amples (slight more is possible but good to stick at 3 ampers).
That put the 7 emitter upgrade board to be at about 7000 Lumens on datasheet calculation.
This board can run to a max of 63 Watts ( max recommended ).
It's the last upgrade you ever need on your Lupine Betty :D

Its only a small run so below are the number of slots available.
Please post "I'll take it" and paypal to : info AT britelumens dot com
Will then update your handler in the sale thread. Thanks!

Added comments:

1) All the ground and tracks are all gold plated for maximum conductivity and aluminum core for superior heat sinking.

2) This board work really well with the 22 Degree or 26 Degree lens if you are wondering.
I will be also posting some photos here about the potential of this board beside it being use on Lupine Betty.

3) There is a minor typo error on the last pic. It should read 2.99 Amperes and 20.9 Volts.

4) In any case if you need privacy for the purchase, its alright to PM me and send me payment.

Price is $135 shipped registered.

chipwillis,

I agreed that even without the upgrade (first gen is red P4 board, second gen is CREE XPG and latest gen is XPG + XML T6) by Lupine is already
very bright. Infact the best bike lights I have even seen when my customer sent his to me.

But this board will just be the last upgrade you ever going to worry about not bringing your Betty to its limit.
Moreover, you can always use this board in the later stage to run OEM drivers with a MOD that will be the biggest output in this size package.

Cheers,
Jo

I thought mine was flipping bright the way it is. I'll take one

So in a properly powered D (or C!!) mag, once could push 9000 lumens? I've got to find someone who can do the build...beefy heatsink, controls from low to 3A each, I'm getting a little giddy.

What kind of battery power would be required to run all 7 at 3A? Could I stuff that into a C mag? D Mag?

Yes, the brightest MAG mod till date. This mod is simple to achieve.
George has drivers that pushes all the way to 6 amps :)
I have made some nice heatsinks to pair this boards up.

The VF to push the U2 bins to the max is rather easy with a VF of 20.9V if you know what I mean.
This board can be use for all other illum purpose, house, garage, reef tank..etc...the flood is ridiculous at 3 amperes.

Will update more with photos along the way.

Please tell us where to find that optic you have mounted that fits perfectly. Also, can you post the dimensions of the board? I am very interested in ordering one of these and possibly a heatsink for these for a Mag C or D as well if you have one.

Hi Epsilon,

This answer your questions, and mine is a U2 bin.

Although I have no dealing with DX, any individual or dealers deserve their own respect.

Regards,
Jo

Omg, are you DX? Like 300Lumen @ 700mA means 1285 @ 3000mA?

At 3A they are never going to produce anywhere near those numbers.
7x U2 boards are rated at 7280 lumen @ 3A @ 25c Tj etc etc.

If you mean @ 4A or something, then maybe. But even that is hard ;)

Hi Epsilon,

Appreciate your detail findings and I have corrected my post #1 regards to the more accurate lumens output which I put in the region of 7000.

Cheers,
Jo
