I found my older lantern in my Truck, The BrightStar Hazardous location lanterns are Incan but are made of good quality plastic and can take abuse. Brightness is a different story, I had a 6 volt 5ah rechargable laying around unused and a bulb & reflector from one of my Streamlight liteboxes I converted to E-LED and had bought a Litebox switch on Ebay for $5. Luckily the switch fit perfectly (same style just the factory swith didn't have leads like the Streamlight sw) and the par36 Streamlight lamp fit.

Assembled the switch, connected the wiring to the terminals & battery and reinstalled the lens. Now I have a mini Litebox that will last about 6 hours and can now use rechargable NI-MH D-cells or a SLA battery and I can save a cpl bucks on Lantern batteries but get a rechargable lantern in return in addition to keeping a reliable lantern working:candle: win-win
