I'm wanting to buy a Sunwayman with the magnetic control ring (I just love the idea of being able to dial in the output prior to turning on the light).
I'm looking at either the M10A or M10R.......both XM-L T6. I know the "V" series is more popular but I'm after the fixed outputs and I find them very well spaced.....and I like the fact that the "M" series is more efficient.
I wouldn't mind a setup that ran AA, 14500 & CR123 but kind of want to learn about the differences with the battery types. So first of all, does anyone know if the heads (electronic drivers are the same for both the M10A and M10R?
If I get the M10A, looks like I get max 110 lumens on AA and 210 lumens on 14500 but cannot run a CR123.
If I get the M10R with the AA extender tube, looks like I get max 160 lumens on CR123 and 210 lumens on 14500 but am just assuming here that I'd get 110 lumens with an AA...............that is if the heads are the same.
But then I get a little confused as to regulation because if the lights are current regulated, then why don't they hold the output constant regardless of battery voltage?
