hi
can anyone tell me 'what' this led? its available locally and those who sell it are illetrate guys.. they dont know about its specs, or manafacturer..,, all they say its 2 watt . chinese and it works directly with any3 volts to 4 volts .. which is obviously not the case.as led is current driven..
.. any direction to ascertain more info about them? datasheet ? who makes leds in this shape/type?

Your best bet would be to talk to there supplier, it looks like a copy of an Osram to me. You would probably also have better luck posting in the led part of the forum ;)

It looks a little like the Osram Golden dragon, or GDP for short. The only visible similarity is the brass ring around the emitter, it looks less white and more milky emitter, similar to the Ssc P4. Maybe they took the two technologies and put em together ? I'm no expert :)
