The Sunwayman V10R is advertised as having a "magnetic control system" to adjust the brightness. What happens if a small, powerful magnet is used on or around the magnetic controller? Has anyone tried it?

Thanks,
KR

Thanks Norm.

Seems like that can lead to unintended consequences. Say you're reading a map with dark adapted eyes at 1 lumen, then along comes a magnet and ZAP: 500 lumens. Ouch.

I actually had to put the magnet right on the light for anytning to happin. i guess its an accidental situation that could happen reguardless of how unlikely.

I've tried it on a couple of magnetic ring lights and the light can be changed with a powerful magnet. I don't think it's a good idea. Could it weaken the magnet built into the light?
