I have JB BC25 with a XM-L and have compared it to a ET T20C2 and a P-Rocket both with XM-L emitters and the JB has a very white beam while both the others are creamy. Makes the JB look brighter although it is lower rated (lumen).
Help an ignorant please......

It might be lower rated lumens, but it may have a different beam profile (tighter hotspot, or less light wasted as spill) which makes it seem brighter

An example, - I have a Maxabeam (1500ish lumens) and a Ryobi Hid spotlight (3200ish lumens - almost twice as much light coming out)

With them aimed at the roof, in a small room you would say the ryobi is brighter, which it is
if I then aimed both kits across an oval, or across a canyon, the Maxabeam will thow a tiny hotspot a long long way, under those conditions it looks "brighter" to most people.

The tint shouldn't change the perception of brightness too much
