I already know the Nitecore is a bigger light with better throw but I want to know how much bigger.
If anybody has both these lights some size comparison pictures would be much help in my choice :D. I know how big the Eagletac is because I have the triple r5 version.

Do you mean the Thrunite TN31, or Nitecore TM11?

Sorry, I don't have one of all three, but you can use the TM11 to get a rough idea (common to all pics).

Sorry, I meant the Thrunite TN31. For some reason I keep thinking the TN31 is from Nitecore.:sigh:

Now that Eagletac just came out with the M3C4 in an XM-L U2 (50,000 Lux according to them), I don't think the bigger size is worth it. thanks for the info though.

Hi;
I dont have any pics, sorry. But for what its worth, my TN31 easily out throws my M3C4-single XML. Not to say the TN31 is a better light, but with 230 odd lumens more and a reflector the size of a coffee mug, you would expect that. Just in day to day use, the M3C4 throws out to 150-200 Meters ok, where the TN31 will pretty much double that. IMVHO, build quality of both torches is pretty good. The ET is light enough not to be too difficult to handle for rabbit culling, where the TN31 gives you the distances for foxes, feral dogs and cats etc.

I have the Thrunite TN31, Eagletac M3C4 XM-L in the T6 and updated U2 version with new driver.

M3C4 T6 41k Lux
M3C4 U2 63k Lux

My light meter under reads and is very similar to Selfbuilt's first meter. Therefore I would need to add a few thousand to my readings to achieve a more accurate reading.

I would say that is about right. I figured my new M3C4 with U2 version was around 65,000 lux or so the way it beat my Crelant 7G5 which selfbuilt said running on 4 CR123A batteries is 58,000 lux. I really like my new M3C4.

I like my new M3C4 too and will be taking it to the maze at night on Saturday 15th Sept.

I have the older version M3C4. Is it possible to just buy the head with the new LED'sand driver? I'm guessing the answer is no but it would be nice.

The answer is yes. Email Christina at Eagletac.

My Zebralight SC600's lux is about 80,000

I mean 8,000 lux........

I'd say to decide how far you need it to throw. If 200 yards is good enough, then get the Eagletac. If you need/want longer throw and dont mid the 50% lager size/weight, then get the TN31. Also, price plays a factor too. Dont know how much they want for the ET now, but if I remember correct, they wanted like $139 for the single XM-L version, whereas the TN31 is like $219.

Or get a Spark SL5-210CW. Mine has around 45,000 lux!

I mean 4,500 lux......

You say the Eagletac will throw around 200 meters, but I have used my M3C4 with a triple r5 emitter(~20,000 lux) on a dark night to illuminate objects that I later measured via Google Earth at 305 and 320 meters away.
I guess we have different ideas of what distance a light will do considering the XM-L is around 45,000 lux.
