my JB 18650 work perfectly with it. unprotected flattop 18650 from laptops are way too short that i had to add about 2mm of solder on each end of the battery.

Its best to get Panasonic based Li Ion batteries, such as AW, Redilast, Callies Kustoms. But there are less expensive Panasonic batteries like Orbtronics, Eagletac, Xtar, etc.

There are reviews for all these batteries here, and the less expensive ones seem to be just as good, or pretty darn close! You can get 2 protected 2900mah Orbtronics 18650's for about $23 on amazon, or the 3100mah protected Orbtronics 18650's for about $25.99 for 2. Eagletacs are $14.99 apiece, and Xtar's are similar in price to Orbtronics. Thats what I would recommend, or AW's protected 18650's for $18- $25 apiece. Similar for Redilast. Callies are a bit cheaper I think.

They are all Panasonic cells, regardless of which brand mentioned above^

Both RediLast 3100 and EagleTac 3100 work fine. I have 4 of each and use these batteries in the TM11.

I have just come back from a CPF meet and the Eagletac 18650 3100mAh works well. The lumen output was also higher than I expected.

Another word of caution. Since the TM11 can be run with between 1 to 4 batteries, be very careful if you switch on your turbo mode when having less than 4 in there. I believe that's also why they recommend using protected batteries. With a protected battery, the light will just shut down. Without protection, the least you can do is killing your battery.

I put a single JB 18650 in there and turbo mode ran for a few seconds only. Then the light shut down.
