Pelican just announced a lineup of higher end products focused on serious users.

I've always had a soft spot for Pelican, having used the SabreLight, PeliLite and MityLights during my childhood. Great lights for the time and the plastic really took a beating.

The new series includes a range of new LED lights, mostly using AA or AAA cells. I haven't seen one in person but the photos on the website look really cool. They do not specify LED type or bin (like most flashlight manufactures focused on general public instead of flashaholics).

They are generally simple lights without a lot of useless features (SOS, etc.) so they are probably very practical. They look like a nice alternative to the legions of look-alikes on the market right now -- and the prices look good.

May not appeal to the CPF junkies (stats don't look great on surface, not sure what leds, etc.), but likely worth keeping them in mind for gifts to non-flashaholics as well as for general use.
