Remove the head, or the top of the flashlight body? You unscrew head to replace bulb.

I don't mean the retaining ring that holds the lens and lamp assembly in place. Once you remove the retaining ring and pull out the lamp assembly, the head is still attached to the body. How is this head removed? I assume it's threaded and unscrews, but the Streamlight manual shows the body/head as an inseparable unit.

I would bet is isn't fit on by screwing, and is not meant to be taken off. Not sure. The older SL-15X I have has a plastic body, one piece, including head.

The head is actually swaged onto the body chamber. You can remove it, but typically this will damage the unit. I have done it one time and it left some pretty nasty marks.

Thanks, that's what I was worried about. Guess this one won't get the Daddy treatment.
