stuck Surefire pocket clip

I picked up a mint used A2 with the long pocket clip. The clip protrudes high enough to prevent the bezel from fully seating. Attempts to remove either the clip or wedge have failed. I cannot seat the clip further nor remove it. Looking for suggestions as to remedy the problem.

How much force are you using? I've had to use considerable force to pull the clip off my E2e with paracord. To re-install the clip, I usually seat the clip as much as possible, and then hammer the clip against a textbook, block of wood, etc.
