The other night my wife was washing her car windows with a WET sponge. Then while it was still dripping wet, she threw the sponge on top of one of the safety sensors (sensors that make sure little kids don't get hurt when the garage is closing). So the next morning, we woke up to the sensors beeping = sensor senses an obstruction. It turns out that the water from the sponge seeped into the sending sensor and was shorted out. I opened up the sending sensor and the only thing inside is an LED that was damaged. I'm assuming its an infrared type LED. Has anyone out there had a similar problem and know where I can find a replacement sensor or better yet a new LED? My garage door was made by Stanley, but is no longer made by them so Support and Parts are no where to be found. If I can't find the information or parts I need, I'll have to buy a new sensing kit for about $50. Any help or information would be much appreciated.
