NO, this is not from some spammed e-mail ad for the new Viagra rub-on lotion:

Instead, it is a Carley 3-inch aluminum reflector drilled and sized to fit the Super LGI with SWAK-binned Luxeon III emitter. Here it is next to the longest-throwing single-die Luxeon of its size, the R2H HD McModule in a Pelican M6:

A look down the business end of this gargantuan "turbohead":

The now-standard 20-foot ceiling beamshot w/camera on lowest darkest setting with LGI-G (Long Gun Illuminator-Gargantua) on the left:

And finally, the picture everyone waits for, the infamous LM631 lux meter reading:

7,760 lux...best it could do with the 2-inch Carley reflector was 5,680 lux, so I guess size does matter -- indeed.

Thanks for reading!

Sure looks clean enough to be metalised. That's some pretty tight beam. How many inches is the PM6 reflector? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Man.. with a 5 watt, that would dang well reach into the 15Ks...

Reflector is polished. Beam is tight enough to perhaps accommodate a 5W, but then none of the die emitters would be on-center, and I believe readings would not be as high (unless of course, it was an X3T or something)...

I'm thinking of an SN2 type of setup with 3x123 direct drive and a big heat sink. Resulting beam should be even tighter than an SN2's, right? Yes of course you'd want an X3T to go with that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was a bit disappointer that a 3" swak didnt stomp the q-bin in a mag that you recently reported. Maybe the metalizing will improve things dramatically, or maybe the carleys aren't as good as the mag one, or maybe the q was driven harder?

I have a CA OP 3" and a 3" sf T coming my way, looking forward to compare them and the mag. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

paulr, IMHO that's the Only way to go!

AilSnail, actually this one made 30 lux more than the Q-bin Mag (7760 vs 7730) and for all intents and purposes is comparable. However 3AA's cannot keep up with the output of 3C's...maybe I should try a Luxeon III in the 2D/3C Mag later...

Viagra lotion,
I was coming to that but with Viagra, it can be a sticky situation. It is hard to believe that Viagra has not marketed the lotion, good to see you took matters into your own hands. With stiffened resolve you have made an up and coming product. It could be that you pulled an all nighter to make that dream a reality.
Good to see some seriously strong beams being produced...some of them even produce light. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

I heard two guys hijacked a truckload of Viagra lotion last week. When police finally located the perpetrators they found a pair of hardened criminals.
