Hi all, WITHDRAWN FOR NOW

These lights are a 2 mode High/Low Minimag Pro+ shortened to use a single li-ion 14500.

A small resistor has been added to protect the battery and light ( keeping the current below 1.5A)

A custom PCB is then added for battery +

Each light is also equipped with a mineral glass lens for greater durability.

Love your recent flow of mag mods for sale! This is basically the stock mag pro plus with a resistor board and new pcb to run a li-ion? Still stick LED?

The pro plus is only available in black right?

Re: FS: 225 lumen Minimag Shorty.

Will these still run on a regular AA cell in a pinch, or is the draw too much?

+1 would like to know more about this too. Also how many lumens is the stock pro plus? Maglite rates them at 245 lumens and I'm sure your mood is brighter than stock

Thanks Kaun,

A hand full of colors is available and I have edited the OP to reflect the choices.

Sorry only li-ion will power these.

Actually these track about even with a factory light. I sent one to a member with a calibrated sphere. Here is the test data.

Mini Mag Pro+ shorty 1xAW 14500

1 sec- 226.7
30 sec- 236.4.
1 min- 225.5
2 min- 214.6
3 min- 210.9
4 min- 207.3
5 min- 205.8

I'm interested in a grey one, would it be possible to make it run slightly higher amperage to be brighter?

Re: FS: 225 lumen Minimag Shorty.

I wish I could. The problem is that with the overvoltage of the li-ion cell the current out the gate is about 1.4A Going with a lower value resistor would cause the battery max to be exceeded for the first part of the cycle.

Re: FS: 225 lumen Minimag Shorty.

I'm really noob to this, would running an IMR cell make a difference?

Re: FS: 225 lumen Minimag Shorty.

Normally an IMR will give a bit of a boost, but in this case the current remains fairly constant.

EDIT: The more I think about this the less happy I am with it. I think rather than this I am going to build my own light engines. A shorty is special, but not special enough. So for now this is withdrawn.

Hey VOB, glad that's the route you're taking! Hope you maintain the shorty body.
Have you thought about using the regular incan minimag so the light would be even smaller in the end?

Good to know. I'd like to hear what you have to say about the throw with the different reflector set ups :)
When do you think you'll get a working light up for testing + availability?

Hey VoB, this came to my mind I thought I would post it here.

Since you are doing your own light engines, do you think you can make it work on an alkaline in a pinch? That would increase flexibility and options a lot more!
