Do you play texas holdem? What is your favorite hand?

Hey guys,

Just played some holdem with friends over the Labor Day weekend. Did pretty good. I didn't get awesome hands, but did get my favorite card. I like Qs. If I have a Q and something suited; I usually play. Not necassary play the whole round, but depending on amount bet; I usually pay to see the flop.

What is your favorite hand?

favorite hand: better what the rest have.

most hated: anything with pocket ace or aces involved. it seems no matter when or where i play.. if i have "one of the best pocket hands available in poker", the other players will have better hands!

so nowdays if i have an ace/aces i only just check if the bets stay small. anyone betting high and im out. out of all hundreds of hands (live or online) where i have had aces in the pocket i think i have only won once or twice.. and by getting a flush with ace high, or pair to another card than the ace. with pocket ace pair.. never won anything. never gotten ace high straight.. never gotten 3 aces or more and won.. (most times someone else got a fullhouse.. that i have never gotten with 3 aces and two others.. only with 2 aces and 3 others and someone else beat me with higher 3 of kind full house. so i HATE having an ace. hahah.


i do like jacks and queens. won many good games (when others have good hands too) with pocket jacks and then getting a third later on or fullhouse.

but trying to avoid holdem.. i get addicted to gambling way too easily (spend too much on blackjack and roulette in past) so i rather not play anymore, not even free games. i only go to online poker houses once a month or less and play for few hours and thats it.

and couple times a year with my friends if we get together somewhere and someone brings a set of chips and cards.. they always seem to be suprised me beeing in the top 2 or 3 everytime we play.. as they play almost every week and some of them go to local tournaments etc.. so me beeing "fresh meat" and doing ok confuses them. my problem is that i get tired of playing at somepoint, and i just kinda loose interest in the game.. often when its just head to head setup.. and i play goofy just to get out of the table hahah. i like playing against everyone not just the last one. dont have the "killer instinct" or i try to make sure i wont let it control me anymore.

ps. only hand i know i have never EVER had in poker, any poker, live, online or slotmachine is: Royal Straight Flush, Ace High with Hearts.

I usually do pretty good with pockets. But I know exactly what you mean about having high pocket rocket and someone catch smaller 2 pairs or trips..

my favorite hand besides the obvious A-A or K-K is.... king - 9, i also really like jack - 9

i used to play a lot, its a lot of fun when playing with friends. casual games weekly, and the winnings kind of just rotate around, usually the biggest winner treats for dinner, or breakfast.
but not so much at the casino though, some people take it too serious and get really angry when you win their money or bluff them.

Q-10. Suited helps of course...but just seems to be a hand you always catch something with, weather you just sneak in to see the flop, or push the action at the blind. Even if someone calls you with a big pair etc. you usually still have decent odds to catch a card and get lucky!
