Been a long time since I posted......but I still use my lights!

I notice a Surefire 6P wouldn't turn on, so I cleaned the tailcap threds and changed batteries.
When I removed the head, I noticed I had install a Solarforce R2 LED.
I replaced it with the Surefire incandescent, and the light works fine.
I cleaned the R2, still doesn't work. Should I just get a new one?

It's always possible. Connect the drop-in to a battery using a couple bits of wire. If it still doesn't work, toss it. If it does work, then there must be a connectivity problem in the host it used to be installed in.

Hey, that works! I put it back in the 6P and no go.....
What would cause that? Thanks for the advice!

The spring seemed like a good length (compared to the surefire part).
But after fiddling with it for a while, it works, thanks!

I've noticed that when putting different brands of dropins into a SureFire sometimes the springs need tweaking (as stated above) and sometimes some copper foil around the solid part of the dropin can help. Some springs require resoldering. You got good advice here today!
