i think the pics are up now...
these came from a computer place, they came off of CPUs
with a little filing, they'll drop into a the head of
a size C/D Maglite
AND SCREW DOWN!!!
it just happen to fit...same threads.
and one mean heatsink.

...and screw down? Into what? Is there a threaded female mating part inside the Mags somewhere...?

they screw into the head, not the tube...
pop the leds on, optics on top, screw down the lens, and you are done !
works great with the emitters on their board(star/square)

i was afraid of that :green;

even with the star, i'd be concerned about the thermal joint, there isn't much surface area to work with.

if your worried about that, you can use a little more paste
and fill in the gaps in under the board, but there is enough
thermal contact without over doing it with the compound.

Why not just take a dremel (or mill if you're lucky enough) and remove the fins in the very center of the sink? Then you can attach a bare emitter directly to the sink for a better junction?

I wasn't planning on selling those, I've got too many mag mods going on, I got them at a computer scrapping place, they sell the heat sinks by wieght($1/LB)...
they didn't have that many of them, so I'll hold on to what I have.
