Love my Olight M31 triton, but it has a habit of randomly changing modes. I loosen/tighten to change modes, then tighten it and use it. After some clicks on and off using the tailcap, it will jump modes. It will suddenly go up to high, then strobe, then low after cycling on and off.

My solution is low-tech. I can see on the board in the head when you loosen and tighten, the body is making contact with a ring. I get it in the mode I want, then unscrew the head, and drop an O-ring in there to prevent the body from hitting that ring and changing the modes. Presto - it stays where I put it. Right now I have it "locked" in medium mode. Slightly annoying, but with a light like this I can't see myself bouncing to different modes anyway. It's pretty much an outdoor portable throw-cannon. Medium mode is plenty bright.
