I have a Surefire G2 that I have had for a couple of years.

Is it worth looking into upgrading it, or should I just keep it in the car for finding stuff that falls on the floor at night?

Would it be reasonable to consider some type of led upgrade and could it be updated to use 16340s?

Get an XP-G drop-in or XM-L at 1.4a for it. The nitrolon body will not do good with heat at 2.8a. Plus, you get a massive run-time for it.

Contact Surefire about their different switches and whether they are compatible and willing to sell one to you separately. Note that their stuff is not cheap but are top-notched.
