That's not a flashlight, that's a third leg. :sick2:

Bound to be pretty unwieldy, especially from inside a vehicle. If you must, top off the Maglight with the Malkoff "3-6 D-Cell Drop-In to fit Mag-Lite". You'd have to stick with a 6-cell body (or "stumpy" for short), but output is an honest 270 lumens. Your required 75 foot range is nothing for 'ol stumpy in that case.

If it were me, in that price range I'd get something a bit more modern, like a fenix something-or-other. And carry a big stick for the third leg effect.

Or, just go all in with a Malkoff Hot Pink MD2 with High/Low Switch.

Cheers!

A stock new led mag would be sufficient. A 2-3 D would be fine. Lots of others as well. An 8D would be a pain in the car. Even a 6 D would be unwieldy.

You could just stick with the 6D and get a Malkoff drop-in. Here's their 3-6 D-cell version.

For LEDs, more voltage does not mean brighter. They aren't like incan bulbs. LEDs run at a fairly narrow voltage range (white LEDs are ~3.2-3.7v for full output), so a circuit (driver) usually is necessarily to boost (raise) or buck (lower) the battery voltage to something the LED needs.

If you want, you can build your own Maglite mod with a driver that can handle 12v.

As for upgrade lights (from your other thread), stores like Walmart and Home Depot might have the Rayovac Indestructible lights and those are durable and cheap lights with good output.

If you want to buy online, there are even more options.

:welcome:
