Problem with new Maglite

Seems like a very odd problem to be occurring on a new Maglite. You should be able to get a free replacement of the light. If the store where you bought it, won't do it, Maglite should. What kind of return policy does your store have? I would first contact the store to see about a quick exchange.

I'd like to think any store, storefront or online, would be willing to accommodate you in exchanging this for another. I have 3 Maglites, all are 2D/LED; no problems at all...

Check that the tail cap is screwed on tight. Even slightly loose will cause problems.
