My TK20 seems to have lost both high and low modes. It is a medium but more towards the high. I'm guessing the threads are a bit dirty so what is the best way clean it without deox-it? Is metho ok? Or hexane based electronics cleaner?

When I get in the problem-solving mode I remove the o-rings then use old t-shirt cloth and electronic isopropyl alcohol (not the drug store kind). A small amount of lubricant on the o-rings and threads should do. Don't forget to clean any electrical path. I have a TK-20 for quite awhile and still use it because it's so well made.

I actually retired to the shelf along with my LF2XT. I had to bring it out again, well because I miss the tint but I didn't expect to stop working like it should. Just tried cleaning it with isoproply and I'm getting two modes but I can barely tell the difference between them. It was 70% and from a hardware store, not the specific electronic type. I should have just ordered the deoxit gold .. which I'll do now
