Petzl Nao vs. Surefire Maximus

Hello,

Anyone have any firsthand feedback on both these headlamps?

I have a Surefire Maximus. Had a couple since they first came out. It's worked fantastically and still working like a champ.

The Nao looks interesting and wouldn't mind giving it a go. But....before I drop a couple hundred, I'd like to see what everyone thinks. I like the Maximus because of its floody beam. Any input on the beam profile of the Nao? Pros/Cons, Likes/Dislikes of the Nao? The software programming is different, you don't see that in the headlamp market. USB charging is nice. Reactive lighting looks cool, but is it more gimmicky in nature?

For close range, you will get enough flood for any activity. Thats how NAO works :

Thank you, I appreciate the beamshots. Just gotta say if it wasn't for your reviews, I'd probably be buying every headlamp available. It's your reviews that steer me in the right direction.:thumbsup: I guess I'll pick up a Nao.
