Is there significant risk in using a battery that has been wet?

I have a Quark Mini 123 that went through the wash and the lubricated o-ring didn't keep out the water completely. I think that there was too much play between body and head to really seal up well. My AW CR123 battery got pretty wet. I checked the voltage and I see that is holding a charge. Is there a way to tell if the battery or the protection circuit on it has been damaged? Should I try to charge it and see what happens? What would you do?

Thanks.

If in doubt, leave it out.

I agree. For the minor cost of a new cell, would you take the risk that the PCB will corrode, dead short the cell and :poof:?

Dispose of this one, and replace it. Always err on the side of caution with Li-Ions.
