Hi All

Decided to do a runtime timelapse video of 3 different AAA flashlights (actually 4 lights but 2 are LD01). All with freshly charged 900mAh Turnigy LSD NiMh cells.
All running on Max setting, 50cm from the wall, fan blowing across the lights to keep things cool. Ambient temperature is 28deg C.
All of the flashlights were delivered in Dec 2012 and are as follows:

Edit:
===============
Fenix LD01 XPG-R4 (3/26/72lumens)
Thrunite Ti XPE-R4 (3/60lumens)
Preon 1 XPG (gen1) (1.8/8.5/70lumens)
===============

135min video condensed about 5.5 min. In the video every 12 sec = 5 min
Video uploaded on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDyJPhhE8Qw for those who wish to view the variation of light output with time.

4AAA+runtime+timelapse.jpg

From left to right LD01 , Thrunite Ti, Preon1, LD01.

Results as follows: Run time duration:
Preon1: ~60min
LD01: ~90min
Thrunite Ti:~120min

Thrunite has the best throw, Preon1 the floodiest beam, LD01 somewhere in between.
I will try to do a "low" runtime test when i get the time.

Happy holidays to everyone.

What's the green light on the photo? The second light counted from right.

And what's the green light, the third light counted from left?

Ah ... okay got it ... its the Foursevens light.

I would have thought so.

No surprise then. :green: :crackup:

sandysim, which version of LD01 have you tested? R4, R5 or older?

Cheers

shelm, yes the one with the greenish one is the video is preon1, although in real life it does not look greenish at all, just warmer than the other 2. And yes, my Quark AA2 does run a little green on moonlight and low settings, it is ok on Medium and above.
Thr3Evo, yes, I should. This is my first video on youtube, still getting to grips on how to do stuff.
Bla2000, before I do that, I need to find a room with no windows, given that they might run for over 24hours...and splice 2/3 videos since the timelapse duration limit on my camcorder is 12hours.
tam17, Fenix LD01R4 Dec2012 version. Have edited initial post to include this info.

Thanks, you just saved me some money.
I was just about to buy a clearanced Preon.
I am so completely over 4Sevens and their puke green lights.
I have a 'Quark Turbo X' I have always been disappointed with.

I just got a Thrunite Ti2 XPG2 last week that has a very nice white beam.
I'm not a tint snob and I own no neutral lights.
