Barking flashlight (also has siren)

"The bark of a real Doberman or the blast of a siren—all within an ultra-bright flashlight—provide extra security when you need it most. Features two digitally recorded sounds: the bark of an actual Doberman pinscher and a true-to-life emergency siren...."

When microprocessors came out in the 70's and 80's, we were told they would change the world... but a barking flashlight?

i played around with one of these at Brookstone a while back. while the light output wasn't "that" bad, the barking sounded kinda cheesy/fake.

I think that these "gadget" companies have guys on staff who's only job it is to sit and think of ways to combine the products that they already offer in new and unusual ways.

"hey, so we developed this sound chip with a barking dog in it, where else can we stick that?"

"how about into the waterproof nose hair clipper"

"no, those guys are already busy working the led flashlight into the nose hair clipper for transillumination of the sinuses during clipping..."

"HEY what about a flashlight with the doggie chip in it?"

What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall in their boardroom /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As a male living in Canada, I never worry about walking outside in the middle of the night. But I think most females worry like heck when doing so. This light or a personal alarm would tend to appeal to women who need to travel at night to their late shifts, etc.
