Got my new toy today. I did some quick lux measurements.

At 5m I get 144500
At 7m I get 149156

I think that the ar coating is not the same as before. I may do a test without the glass.

Is that the set of measurements, or was that back calculated to lux at 1 meter?

:D

It looks like you need to be further away to account for the beam convergence distance.

Sure you do not have that reversed? Normally the further away the less...at least that`s what I would expect.

At 5m I get 5780 lux. At 7m I get 3044 lux. I will try some readings from 10m.

Not really true on throwers. On some serious throwers you can better readings all the way up to a 100m. Sure once it gets to a certain point partials in the air will start hurting the readings. But it's almost always safe to read 15m or more.

Ok I finally got around to testing at 10m. I get 1552 lux at 10m. So that is 155200cd. The lamp does also put out more lumans than the old led.

Pretty impressive. My brother and I both have TN31's with the regular XML U2. One does about 126K and the other about 122k. Give or take another 20-25k on average. So looks like the XM-L2 is a nice improvement.
