Install black extension ring between head and bezel


Install black positive connector instead of bulb and tighten it with brass negative connector


2C M*g using 2 protected 18650

Here I have limited quantity of simple 3 XML drop in for all incand M*g "C" and M*g "D" (Will not work with M*gCharger)
No soldering needed, no skill needed and 100% reversible. Installation will take only few minutes.
Simply remove bezel, reflector and bulb of your incand M*g then install black plastic instead of bulb, tighten it by provided brass nut.
Then install black extension ring on top of head, install 3XML module with original bezel.
Head extension is made of 6061 aluminum with hard black anodized type III and will increase length of head about 18mm (no other color available)
Replacing the lens is not necessary but optional.
Please make sure total forwarded voltage to 3XML module is no greater than spec.
8.4 volt version will work in 6C or 6D (6 NiMH), 2C (2x18650) and 2D (2x18650 or 6AA), 2.5D (2x32700) and many other configurations.
12.6 volt version will work in 3C (3x18500), 1.25D (3x17670), 3D (3x18650 or 9AA), 3.5D (3x32700) and many other configurations.
Obviously, 12.6 volt version is brighter than 8.4 volt version but either one will outperform many other conversion kit.
You can also use many other type of modules such as single P7, single XML, 5 Cree, 6 Cree, 3XML (2 cell), 3XML(3 cell) and ....
If you already have your own module, then you will need kit only without module.
What you will get in a kit includes: 3XML module, black HA head extension with oring, black plastic positive contact and brass negative contact.
Please make sure positive of batteries toward front of flashlight and negative towards the tail cap.
Warning: Reverse polarity will damage, burn and fry the module.

Each module is different than other.
You can click on each blue link and find out output, current draw and voltage range of each module.
I have measured about 2.2 Amps from tail cap of 3 protected 18500 cells. Keep in mind that it was high mode of 2200 lumens version and tail cap current while total voltage was about 12 volt.

For 2 cell version, I have measured about 1 Amp from pair of protected 18500 cells. Remember, this is tail cap current and not forwarded voltage to LED
For 3 cell version, I have measured about 2.2 Amp tail side current.

Yes,
Voltage of 6 NiMH AA's is about same as 2 Li-Ion and 8.4V kit will run on either configuration properly.

Claimed lumens ratings are from module manufacturer and you can get any module which you prefer and that's why I offer "kit only without module too".

If that's the case, have you checked the current flow on the 8.4V KD module? The review on their website says it's only 800mA on high.

OK..If I got the formula right,

LED_Current = battery_voltage*battery_current / LED_voltage

That would be approx 2.66A forward current, assuming a perfectly efficient circuit...or, more likely 2.25A assuming 85% efficiency, 8 volts at the cells, 3 volts forward voltage and 1A at the tail.

If that's right, it's a good bit of current to the emitters.
