Just purchased a used Fenix TK35 flashlight on the CPF Marketplace. I was led to believe that it was the later Version 2 model (with XM-L U2 emitter, 860 lumen output) but unfortunately when I received it found out that it was one of the Version 1 models (with XM-L T6 emitter, 820 lumen output). The beam has a greenish hue and the hot spot has somewhat of a dark center.

I know that generally speaking most of the Fenix flashlights are not easily modded. Has anyone opened up the head on one of these and done an emitter swap? There are two holes that are about 1/8" in diameter and 3/16" deep in the aluminum base of the driver module so it looks like it could be unscrewed if a person had the proper tool (or could make one up), then the emitter could be accessed. I'm not sure if the reflector could be removed after the module was unscrewed or not. Can anyone tell me?

EDIT: Found this thread http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?325532-Fenix-TK35-bezel-breakdown
Doesn't sound very encouraging.

Has anyone else opened up the head on a TK35?
