Nitecore EA1 Clip?

Ordered and received today and have a question about the screws holding the clip. They look like that are cross-threaded as the bottom of the head does not meet flush with the surface of the clip. It could be an issue with the screws, but until removed it difficult to tell. I have some 4-40 button head screws which would be an excellent replacement, but not sure if the threads are metric or not. Has anyone removed the screws and assessed if metric or American standard? Likely metric, but one can always hope.

It looks like the clip was attached as a flat piece of steel with access to the screw slots then folded over to complete. Can't say I am as pleased with the clip as I am with the rest of the light.
