Hello,

I had this generic emergency light with 24 leds whose SLA battery went dead, as they always do. Rather than replacing the SLA battery every year, I modded the light with Li-Ion battery.

The original resistor "driver" was replaced with 2x7135 soldered on a small board as a heatsink

I added a Li-Ion TP4056 control board from eBay along with a cell phone battery for testing only. I will replace this battery with one or two 18650 in parallel when they arrive.

The TP4056 board comes with miniUSB socket. I consider microUSB to be more useful since it's the standard for all cellphones so chargers are everywhere.
I took the miniUSB off and soldered a microUSB socket. The original charge indicator hole was reused to see the TP4056 leds.

Complete mod!

Cool Retrofit! I like the use of the 7135's. I bought some bare ones from illuminationsupply but haven't gotten around to using them for any thing yet..

Thanks. I purchased the 7135 bare too, and found out they should be quickly soldered or else they die.
