It's prep and power outage time, share your updates, pictures, and techniques here.

Boston needs 18.5" of snow to break into the top ten snowstorms of all time, and this one is scheduled to deliver up to 24".

Be sure everything is charged, yes it's too late to buy batteries, and make sure you've got a battery-powered radio set to your local news station ready to go..

Let it snow, let it snow....let it snow! !
Be safe guys and girls, don't take unnecessary risks. Don't go out unless you have to.

I think NJ is mostly OK at least the parts lower than say NYC, etc....we might only get ~ 4-6" in the Princeton area for example....but, north of us, it looks to build rapidly.

I think there are many people on CPF that have something like, oh a pelican full of batteries here, a crate of SF123s over there.. :D

Food is stocked, shovels and tires are ready. Looking forward to it. Now if only I had some deep cycle batteries and inverters that I could hook my internet modem and router up too.

I've got lots of lights and batteries, food, drink, cell phone, portable radio, a full tank of gas and new snow tires...

But darn, I forgot to buy a plastic shovel for the trunk of my car. It's -14C (or 7F), so it'll have to wait until the temps rise and the snow is cleared tomorrow.

I'll be plowing snow in my pickup. I needed an extra yellow beacon. After checking them out, I'm using my Eagtac D25LC2 on slow strobe. I put it in a yellow Inova traffic wand an strap it to a roof rack in a niteize universal flashlight holster. My set up works great and I didn't need to buy a $100 - 200 beacon. Bring it on ...

Jealous! I love snow but hardly ever get any good amounts here in Ft Wayne, IN. Even when we do get a somewhat decent snow, they make a huge deal out of it. And it always ends up being about half of what they predicted anyway. Pathetic.

24"?!?! Stay safe!!

Almost 5" on the ground here in New Canaan, CT. Up to 24" expected. Looks like i renewed my earlier life addiction to Flashlights at about the right time. New Fenix PD-32 arrived this afternoon in a plastic bag-covered package from Amazon/UPS. Was just out clearing the cars off with my Fenix TK-35...it's snowing like crazy. Have about 14 RCR123A and 8 BRC 18650 3000mAh batteries charged, and about 24 NiMH AA cells for LED Lanterns, police scanners and other lights ready to go.

Stopped in local True Value for more Ice Melt and they were selling large reflector flashlights with 6V lantern batteries for $16.99- labeled 7 hours run time...the little LED lantern lights next to them get 70 Hours on 4 AAs......all their 'D' batteries were wiped out first.

Daybreak here, 14" in my front yard. Lights are still on, lots of snow to move, but we certainly missed the worst of it. Good luck to everyone north and east of me !!!
