After 8 months and $4,000 loan for the school, I past my pharmacy technician course. Externs have already started and I find myself using the light I got for X-mass event here. Mainly for looking into cabinents under the table.

Sad part, I did not past with a 90% or above :( I got around the 80's.

Tough crowd...

Well alright; I do also pass along my congrats, education is the best and most important thing you can do for yourself, and I encourage you to continue it, even if it's just a class you're interested in here and there. But don't start the celebration until you've put that degree to use - that's what you got it for, after all. I have a sister-in-law who got a pharm tech degree a couple of years ago and never did anything with it, makes all the effort in college seem kinda useless. Keep us updated!

Don't worry. You said what the rest of us were thinking.

I really hope English isn't OPs first language.

Congrats bud! !
Does that make you a pharmacist now? I would assume you need a lot more schooling than that, I heard it's very similar to becoming a doctor...

it is basically the same as becoming a doctor, had a friend who got his pharm degree.

maybe the excitement got to the OP? It's no surprise that pharmies can read doctor scribble lol

Becoming a doctor (physician) requires 4 years of college, four years of medical school, and, for most specialties, three to seven years of post graduate training. Not " basically the same" as a pharmacist.

Perhaps you did not pass with a higher percentage because the examiner wasn't happy with your grammar?
Anyway, a pass is a pass and now you can pass on to other things and put this in your past.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I'm a pharmacy tech. I do have plans to be a pharmacist down the road. There's a new college opening up next year in town and will definitely help big time in terms of living place.

English isn't my native language. I've got plans to move up north where a lot of Iu-Mien folks are at. My sister-in-law said that they're looking for techs there that can speak the language. Though, I'm not too happy living with my oldest brother up there--he can be a total **** often.

I had a BA in Sociology and it was almost useless. After 2 years of working with students, I was only able to evaluate students, direct them to the right services, and provide intervention. That position did not last long because of budget cuts and the need lessens for intervention specialists. I'm guessing it'll go hand-to-hand with customer service in the pharmacy.

Matt, huge applause to you for working hard to better yourself. There's a lot of people not willing to put in the work. Good luck working toward full Pharmacist.

I'm ESL as well. An 'Anchor Baby' if you will. My mother still has her green card. But it looks like you have a firm grasp of the American Vernacular. :)
