I sent surefire an email but haven't got a reply. Haven't got a chance to call.

I read somewhere can't remember where that there would be diffusers to fit the new 1.1 inch lights like the eb1 and the soon e2d led ultra and lx2 ultra.

Ive got the red blue filters and the clear diffuser for my e2d light and would like to have some for my new eb1. Just wondering if anyone has heard any inside info?

I certainly hope so. I would make sense but Surefire is really interested in throw!

I'd also be interested in diffusers that fit the 1.1 inch Surefire lights or accessories from an alternative manufacturer that fit (Eg. 28mm diffuser).

There will be 3 new slip-on filters, hopefully by the end of August.

F04-A (Slip on BeamShaper Assy, 1.125" Bezel)
F05-A (Slip on Red Filter Assy, 1.125" Bezel)
F06-A (Slip on Blue Filter Assy, 1.125" Bezel)

They are also working on a flip-up filter that will come with three interchangeable lenses. No definite word on when it will be available.

Are they really re-using the same part numbers ... ? :ohgeez:

Oops, my post lost the extra spaces I put between the part numbers and descriptions. I will add parentheses to make it clearer.

The new part numbers will be F04-A, F05-A, and F06-A. Just like the new Outdoorsman lights, E1L-A, E2L-A, etc.

Sorry 'bout that.

1.1125" lights

Would someone with a EB1 &/or E2DL-U mind measuring the outermost diameter of the back side of their heads? Not the threads, which I understand are the same, but the lip.

I don't know if they are actually shipping yet but I noticed they showed up on SureFire's site a few days ago. I don't understand why the retail price is so high compared to the older versions. Hopefully that's just a temporary issue!

Has anyone tried Butler Creek Blizzard Flip Scope Covers with DIY diffuser film? Size #1 of the covers is for 1.0" to 1.05" diameter scopes. Not sure if it would stretch enough to fit.

Weaver Polar flip scope covers seem to also be an option. Their "Size A" is 1.00-1.09" diameter, and "Size B" is 1.095-1.10".

Well, they arrived. Performance "profile" (obviously more output, but same "beam" shape, etc.) is identical to the F04 on an X300. The beam profile is like an SST90 with an orange-peal reflector, except that the transition from the center of the "cloud of light" to the edge is very linear vs. what a reflector would produce. Output loss is probably the same @10% as the F04...hardly noticeable, if at all.

This would be EXCELLENT for clearing even larger rooms/buildings (note: NOT! 200 yard hall-ways, I mean 60x80' rooms.) It has a lot of lumens pumping out, even if they are diffused, that I predict (have not shone it at night outside) that would allow good, solid target ID's at 100 feet. Very easily, due to the large amount of brute light being produced.

I am impressed and pleased, and will provide beamshots of it outdoors tonight.

Camera was set to best mirror what I saw with my own eyes regarding tint and illumination. However, with my own eyes, the spill with both F04-A and sans F04-A was definitely more revealing than the camera could capture. The X300U did not give the sensation of "looking through a drinking straw" that the previous X300 did, in the least, even without the diffuser. I would go so far as to say that the diffuser's main use is heavy cover, or indoors.
