OK, this is my first mod and hope you'll like it.
I'm making this public just now although the mod's months old...
The host is a Princeton Tec Blast Body + Reflector/Reflector Housing.
The mod is an Opalec Newbeam squeezed in a PTBlast Lamp Assembly. I had to take the old bulb out plus some plastic that didn't make the Opalec fit. Most of the work was to use a dremel and a file to take out all the excessive material that prevented the Opalec from fitting, without making holes in the reflector. The secret to the job was all in a firm hand MUCH patience. This is the result:
Small gaps were filled with epoxy resin.
Specs are the same as a normal Opalec head in a MiniGag, except for runtime, which is shorter since it is running on AAAs.
I called it "Blowpalec I" since it is an hybrid between a Blast and Opalec and is the first of a series (I intend to modify a PT Rage when I'll get some time and some other babies. For now, I'll stick with PTs since they're cheaper and these are my first mods). This baby takes the best from both worlds:
Blast's size, resistance (trust me, it *IS* resistant), and Opalec's runtime.
