Pros:

- Its dark early
- Approaching holiday season
- Probably pre-snowfall for our Northern Hemisphere brothers.
- 2013 it co-incides with Diwali (Festival of Lights; which marks the Hindu New Year).
- Co-incides with Daylight Savings change.
- Solar eclipse visible East Coast of USA.
- The Birthday of Nick Holonyak; "the father of the Light Emitting Diode." (b. 1928)

Cons:

- Cold
- Not as dark as the night of Dec. 20/21
- ???

Somewhere around daylight standard time and Fall is when I'm eager to purchase my next light. If manufacturers don't have their lights out by that time, they miss an opportunity. Nov 3rd sounds good to me.
