I did it guys!!!
I've modded my flashlight to have the smaller and most powerful flashlight! ....Ok, that's probably not a world record, but.... Can someone find better?!:)

I've started with a UltraFire WF-C6S, almost as small as a 18650

photo1_zpsb0ada243.jpg

removed the led, put a XM-L T6

photo2_zps705faac9.jpg

and then added the most powerful driver I found that could fit: KD 3040ma driver.

photo3_zps81880a23.jpg

It wouldn't be this powerful without this lithium NiMn battery capable of delivering continuously 4.4 amps!

photo4_zps79cb2c4a.jpg

So, what all of this, I can get exactly 3000mA at the tail of the flashlight at max with about 20 min of runtime, 1000ma at med ( for 60 min) and 50ma at low (12 hour). The battery is rated 550 mah but last as long as my other li-ion 750 mah. The heat generated is not so bad, as it take 2 min to get hot, and after 7 min, temperature never goes higher than 55 C.
Theorically, this is a 1000 lumen flashlight!!! Right now, it's the day but as soon as it's dark outside, I'll go to take some pics and do comparaison of luminosity.
If someone can find a way to make one stronger or smaller, just tell me! Maybe with a XM-L U2? does anyone have info about this led?

I moded a Eagletac D25C twisty with a 3A driver and XM-L2. I am running it on a single AW IMR 16340 cell. I use it for short bursts only. I chose the D25C because it has a very light OP reflector.

congrats. how much u spend and what are the different mode it have?

I spent: Flashlight 16.50$ + T6 6$ + batterie 7$ + 5$ shipping + 5x KD led driver (21.50$ ÷ 5) = About 40 $. Not bad!

The KD led driver has many programmable mode but I choosed them all: lo-> med-> hi-> lo-> med-> hi-> 10Hz strobe-> 2Hz blink-> SOS-> Beacon

How big is the Eagletac D25C compared to a 18650 cell?

The Eagletac D25C twisty is 1.4mm longer than my Eagletac 18650 cell.

Wow! I'm impressed. I have an UF wf-c6s. I carried as a backup EDC for a long time. Mine is scratched up like yours! I liked that light because the switch is super-easy to use, the small size is an easy carry, but it always seemed a little..... dim. Good job!

Yup! I have the WF-C6S since 2-3 years, carrying it in my belt everywhere I go. Definitely my favoritest flashlight ever! But now that I have modded it.... Oh boy!!
It's minus 15 C outside so I'll take the pics tomorrow...

The Eagletac D25C twisty is 1.4mm longer than my Eagletac 18650 cell.

I could have used the smaller Eagletac D25C, it is 2mm shorter and 1mm less in head diameter, but it is expensive (55$). And I'm not sure the 17mm driver could have fit.

So it's still too cold outside so I took the pics in my basement: just don't mind about the mess.

Comparison time!!! So here's all the flashlight that I have that currently work: (Left to right) 9T6 Spotlight, UltraFire WF-501b, UltraFire XG-V2 and the famous Ultrafire WF-C6S.

photo_zps78847b63.jpg

Unmoded UltraFire WF-501b XM-l T6 800 lumen rated with 2.5 a driver and a 3100mah panasonic 18650

Moded UltraFire XG-V2 with a 2.8a driver and another panasonic 3100mah 18650

FAMOUS ''1000 lumens'' Ultrafire WF-C6S
WOW There's and huge difference!! You can see it's more a flood flashlight

P1010953_zpsec524cea.jpg

and the big 9T6 (9x XM-L T6) 9000 lumens rated...(actual is about 3000-4000.) Cost me about 150$ with 3x keygos 26650 4800mah

P1010954_zpsa3f696ae.jpg

You have no idea (NO YOU DON'T) of how proud I am of this little flashlight. 1000 lumens in your pocket!!! This is THE BEST flashlight I ever had (over about 30 flashlight). Will defenitely try to mod, like this one, other flashlight put I think I can't get any more lumen.

Nice job on the upgrade. However I'm having a hard time with this statement:

How exactly did you come up with these figures?

Did you calculate everything and round up to its nearest almost "double" value?

I said ''about'' 20 min but you are right, I rounded it up too high. I should had said ''maybe more than'' 15 min, 45 min and 9 hour. I'll do real test.
Also, you won't get 1000 lumen for 15 min, only for the first 5 or 10 min, but still will get more than 700 lumen until the battery die completely (I'm sure about this!) I would like to perform runtime, voltage/amperage and luminosity test, but I'm not much equipped for this and don't have much time right now.

To all of these who are interest in having one and are ready to wait about 1 month before I ship them, just pm me!! (my supplier for the WF-C6S is dx.com and take veeeery long time to ship)

That's still wishful thinking.
If you do the math (correctly) 550 goes into 3000 5.45 times, into 1000 1.8 times. That comes out to 11m for H and 33m for M. All this with theoretical 100% efficiency(for the sake of calculating), but we all know that's not so.

And if the output drops and gets you longer run times, then the light is not on high or medium anymore so you can't say your getting these numbers at those levels.

I did a temperature test, next is the runtime test with amperage and voltage drop of the battery. I'm curious to see that!

Runtime result!!!
I did real test! I've got 23 minutes of runtime at high 3000mA and 1h10 minutes at med 1000mA. I'll probably get 12-13 hours at low mode.
Here's a graph showing relation between voltage and amperage of the battery:
1000LC6Swatt_zps57e55c5a.jpg

You see in this graph that the peak max ouput last about 30-60 second, so don't expect 1000 lumen for 23 min, this is impossible! Battery was full at 4.15v and when I recharged it after the test, charger put 558ma in the battery.

I managed to achieve 1053 ANSI FL1 Lumens or 32 seconds and then it was all down hill.

I would also like to measure my ouput lumen, how did you measured yours?

I know a few scientists who have access to all the latest equipment. As they have no interest in flashlights, the results are independent. I think Subwoofer has info on building your own integrating sphere. This will test the lumens of all your lights.
