Surefire G2 LED Replacement Fit Issues

Hello All,

I have replaced my stock G2 LED emitter head with a (320 lumen XPG-R5 5 mode 26.5mm x 29.3mm 18v max head). With the main spring removed, the bezel screws down almost all the way tight, but it will not light. If I slowly unscrew the bezel maybe a 1/16th of a turn it will light. The flashlight only functions within a half bezel turn range, otherwise it is off. Is this purely because of fit? I think even with a spacer it would not function properly.

Thanks,

seen this plenty of time. The inner metal tube is actually more narrow than most aftermarket springs. Hence why if you pay attention to SF's grounding spring for the dropin, it's much narrow. To fix this issue, I usually narrowed the spring.

This is a common problem. As suggest you can shorten the spring by cutting, bend the spring to make contact with the body, or wrap copper tape around the drop-in. You'll find a solution!
