I'm looking for a reasonably priced LED conversion for 3-D cell Maglites. I've ruled out the Malkoff units--for that kind of price I can toss the Maglites and buy new. That offends the raised by Depression era parents part of me.
There is the TerraLUX TLX-6EXB, but I've found concerns here and there about longevity due to heat build up. However, the price/performance ratio is good. I'm not looking for some monster "signal the space aliens" type light (already have a couple of those ), but something that is equal to the capabilities of the original unmodded Maglite or maybe a bit better. Can anyone who's actually used these chime in and let me know how it's worked for them? Thanks.
