I have a Inova Bolt 2L that I have had for years but I have been using the soshine 3.0v rechargeable cr-123 cells and now they are old and i need to replace, all my other flashlights use the ultaFire 16340 3.6v Li protected cells.
so can I use the 16340 3.6v cells in the bolt 2L? I did drop them in and they fit and it powers up but I only did this for a few seconds and do not wish to let the magic smoke out of it if I leave it on for real use.
it is brighter, so are the Inova bolts 2L not regulated?
thanks

Be careful with that, make sure it can handle 8.4V. Years ago I fried my first love, an INOVA XO3 TIROS trying 2 x RCR123s. I think the newer version of XO3 with CREE emitter can take RCRs now but be careful with your BOLT especially if it's an older one. It probably has a LUXEON emitter.
