History:
These started as a impromptu project at SHOT 2007 see here for previous sales thread.
The first run was offered in 2008 with a few short runs of black and natural hard anodize. One lot had three trit slots milled in for the buyer to install. This Version II Clickie has a slight tweak on the cosmetics making it a little similar to a SF SW01 "fattie". The internals are the same as the original run, proven McClickie switch and boot, with a jam nut to secure it in place.
Compatibility:
1) The ground path is made at the end of the body tube you are attaching these to. The threads and the end of the battery body must be free of anodize to create a contact. If the threads are anodized, then the tail must be able to screw down far enough to contact the battery tube end. I have successfully attached these to the following SF lights... M3, C3, 6P, 6Z, G2. The following will need a spacer, U2 (Early model, see post) and Fury.
2) Because of the length of the spring on the switch, the negative end of the battery must be within approx. 1/4" of the end of the battery tube. In some configurations, you will need a battery spacer to close the gap so the spring will make good contact. The battery spacers are a "delrin" ring with a brass center contact. I am making these in two battery sizes, CR123 (16340) and 18650 diameters. Both are approx. 1/4" thick at the brass contact. See reference pic below.
