I think I read that there are a few different versions of the Maglite LED flashlights and the first ones were not very good? Can anyone tell me when version the 2d st2d016 will be?

I believe the ST2D016 was released in 2011, at 114 lumens. And if my memory serves me, Maglite upgraded the output to 134 lumens in 2012. So I believe the standard 2D LED is now 134 lumens, while the 2D Pro is at 274 lumens. I usually buy the 2D LEDs just once a year on Black Friday at Lowe's for about $15 USD.

I just picked up a LED Maglite bundle on sale at Costco. The 3xD LED Maglite rated at 134 Lumens and the 2xAA LED Minimag rated at 77 lumens plus an antishock/roll attachment for the head of the Minimag. All for just $12.98

I heard about that killer combo pack for $13 or so. Too bad none of the Sacramento area Costcos have them. But when I called, the gal indicated that they're carrying the new 2D Pro ones at $26.99. I plan to go there tomorrow to check it out and possibly grab one. If I do, I think I'll just run it on some left over new alkalines. And I'll consider getting some 10,000 ish mAH NIMHs for it. Might even get a glass UCL Lens for it too...
