I had an early Malkoff Devices M60 (XR-E, Q5) that I modified with an XM-L2 (U2, 1C) and a multi-mode 8xAMC7135 driver (2.8A).

I used a McGizmo McR-20J reflector after reading this thread:

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?91615-quot-McR-xx-quot-Reflectors

I like the result. The beam has a nice hot spot compared to my EDCPlus/IS X60L3 Triple XP-G2 LED P60. The only thing I don't like is that the beam has a slight green tint.

I did a write-up with more details on my blog.

The AMC7135 chips on your driver are marked 38M (380ma bin chips) so your actual current is 3.04A;).

The 1C tint isn't too bad, hopefullly in the future better tints will be available for the U2 bin.

Does your nanjg 105c driver have the annoying PWM noise on medium? The qlite (intl-outdoor) and KD v2 drivers have resolved this issue.

Thanks for the info LilKevin715. I bought the board from Shiningbeam in 2010. There isn't any noise at any level.

Benchiew, I don't have any idea how many lumens it is, but it's bright.

The Green tint might go away if you drive the XML harder. I noticed this with various XML's and XPG emitters.

Nice job! Impressive soldering!

I just modded my first p60 XML with the nanjg 105c and the PWM noise bothers me too much. I will have to look into the KD v2 driver.

Thanks for the tip LilKevin.

My 8*7135 Nanjg 105 makes alot of noise when running at medium, even louder when running at low.
Maybe I should try KD version next..

Btw lewong, did you change the reflector or did you retain the original one?
