I recently sent my m60 in for repairs because the light would turn a very dim blue tint running on 2x 16340, 2x18650's or 3x123 primaries. This is what I got back

Why is there so much crap trapped inside? How can i remove the optic to clean this mess out?

Have you addressed this problem with Gene or Cathy Malkoff?

If not it definitely should be your first call.

No, I wanted to see if I could clean it out myself. I really don't want to have to send it off again.

BTW I sent it in to Elzetta to get repaired so I don't think Gene is involved.

Have you put it in a host and tried it? Is the beam affected in any way?

it functions fine, but I don't have another m60 to compare it to.

Yep, sounds like your first call needs to be to the guys at Elzetta. However, if you are set on trying to clean it out yourself, it still wouldn't hurt to contact Gene. I'm sure he could tell you the best way to take it apart.

I just got a used M60LL with an emitter that was off-center. When you shine it on the wall from a foot away you can tell, but in real world usage it is no problem at all. As long as the crud does not project in the beam you might be good, but I know sometimes it is tough to spend good money on something and not have it be perfect.
