Is there a \"Police\" for unlicensed software?

Is there an agency or anyone out there checking up on company's to see if they are using licensed software? Also is there some where you can report it?

If you type in "report software piracy" (without the quotes) into Google you will get lots of hits. Most major software vendors like Microsoft, Adobe, etc have a place where you can report directly to them.

Also, here is a link you may be intested in ..... Software & Information Industry Association

Many software companies are installing a "phone home" utility in their software. You install the program and without you knowing the program sends details of the serial number and you I.P. as well as other information to the company.

Whether or not they act on that is another matter. Your details can be subpoenaed from your internet provider.

The BSA (http://www.bsa.org/usa/) are the peope who may be round to see you!
