Hi guys, so I was set on getting a Eagletac D25c clicky with the XPG bulb for my Nichia 219 conversion.

After double checking I realised that RCR123A or IMR will bring it to direct drive mode. I read somewhere that Nichia 219 should only be run at 2A max. This will surely blow the bulb?

Only the D25c XML from 2012 goes into direct drive, loosing lower modes. If you get one of the newer models you'd be fine

Im going by reviews, last years model would pump out 700+ lumens on an rcr123, the new XML2 model is only 500ish lumens which means about 1.5 amps which means you'd be safe.
Check the reviews for yourself, I might be remembering it wrong

Yes, I have 2012 and 2013 model D25c lights. The 2012 goes into direct drive on li-ion. The 2013 definitely does not. It's much dimmer on li-ion.
