Show to the left of my Elephand Jr., The Mag 1D host is made by Mac Custom including the body groving and Quad bore for 4AA. This a special host as Mac no longer do machine work for Mag hosts.
The battery carrier is Five Mrga 4xAA.
The Led is Illumination Supply Tint 3B XPG2, sweet neutral
It's bare led that I re-flowed directly to Copper sink pad, where led is directly solder to copper, the best PCB design for heat transfer and allow high current draw efficiently from led, allowing XPG 2 to be driven to 3Amp.
The Driver is illumination supply 8x7135 3Amp XML driver, over drive the XLPG 2 to similar lumens as XML but roughly 2x the throw.
Driver configured to 3 mode low-med-high, no blinky dsco
The heat sink is DIY copper cored aluminum heatsink
The Reflector is aluminum Deep SMO, in the shape of Deep Rebel SMO but aluminum rather than plastic,will not melt and helps with heatsinking
The Head is bored slightly to fit the reflector
The tail cap is modified to recess the spring, making the 1D shorter than stock tail cap
Teflon sleeve silver coated copper core wires for high current use
The Throw is pretty amazing, about 75,000 lux@ 1 meter, 2x of typical Mag XML mod, compares to typical Mag XML 30K lux, Typical Mag XML Rebel SMO 35-40K lux, or vs. my Copper PCB XML 4.2Amp Mag Elephant Jr. with Rebel SMO 55Klux.
The light has doom intact, perserve max lumens while providing throw
