Question on recent purchase of Nitcore TM26

Can someone help with the use of the Nitecore TM26 .. possibly someone who owns one.

I read the instructions and it says it utilizes a 2 stage push botton switch like a camera shutter button. The lights functions are selected according to the depth the switch is pressed.

The two modes are daily and turbo. With the TM26 turned off and pressing the switch partway down will activate the daily mode. Alternatively pressing the switch all the way down will activate the turbo mode.

When I try what I just described above, the light comes on , but the minute I release the switch it turns off, it does not stay on.. Am I doing anything incorrect ... Your help would be much appreciated... Thanks...
